I always find it difficult to critique poetry. A personās deepest insights, heartfelt emotions, life-changing experiences, perspectives on life and all that is around us. It is such a personal account, a special part of their inner musings forever captured on paper in verse. Who am I to judge oneās soul? But what I do look for in great poetry is to be moved, to have some type of emotion evoked within me, and Cameronās collection inspired by nature accomplished exactly that. Her sweet, innocent yet mature observations of the natural world gave me a sense of nostalgia. I could relate to many of her experiences, having grown up camping in the wilderness, fishing with my dad, and viewing the constellations through a telescope or with the naked eye. The imagery she describes is breathtaking and transports you to exactly where she was in each moment.
I started reading this series and was hooked, I ended up getting all of them and binge reading them.... I have never done that before. I'm not usually a reader but Darcie has a way to keep it interesting. š„°

This is a book of poetry that brings out all your emotions around relationships; from the joy, pleasure and vulnerability to the hurt, anger and betrayal when it fails. And then through healing and ultimately triumph. A different direction than what the author usually writes but a very worthwhile addition to her writing. I found it a really powerful read.
